In January 2016, Rosalyn D’Mello was invited by mid-day to write a weekly feminist column that would appear every Friday in the Mumbai-based tabloid. It was significant validation, given the newspaper’s historical relevance within the bustling metropolitan’s cultural ethos. Having this platform allowed her to build, examine, and sustain an intersectional feminist practice, and to bring into intellectual consideration a range of subjects affecting womxn’s lives. Her columns make the personal political and relate her consciousness to the lives of womxn across backgrounds as she shares her vulnerabilities, joys, insecurities, while speaking out against structural inequities. She remains grateful to her present and past editors at mid-day (Daniel, Debjani, Krishnakumar, Modhushree, Rath, Sandra, Sindhu, Tinaz) who continue to believe in her writing. She is happy to host here her columns from the first seven years.
